Pretext #16: Three tips (and 3 shoes) to survive your return to work!

You were peacefully laying under the palm trees with a fresh fruit cocktail. Your alarm rings and reality catches up to you. Holidays are over: yes ladies, your return to work has indeed commenced!

METRO. WORK. SLEEP. 

CAR. WORK. SLEEP. 

BIKE. WORK. SLEEP. 

WALK. WORK. SLEEP. 

(aka the routine that every hates.)

Whichever category you belong to, you know precisely what I am going to talk to you about, don’t you?

THE END OF THE HOLIDAYS

(to imagine accompanied by a dramatic tone)

You had fun, you danced, sang and laughed all summer. You are up to date with your Netflix series, you prepared the kids for the first, second, fifth or even twenty-fifth back to school. You got married (congratulations! I hope you were wearing the Cruciata), separated, you lived an outstanding summer fling. You showed your summer body off on the beach, you travelled in our beautiful France or in another country, you met nice people and discovered loads of beautiful things. You are tan, you enjoyed the sales and you are rested (maybe … not enough).

In short, you had an amazing summer !

And the return to reality... HURTS

It’s great to relax on your deck chair with your feet up, but holidays need to be earned! And that’s why we all have to go back to the office and work hard

Come on, smile, it’s not that horrible … is it? 

I have the impression that you need reassuring, tips and tricks for this return to work.

Well that’s perfect: we are here for that!

Tip#1: Say goodbye to your routine

.

Well yes, why didn’t we think of it sooner? Routines are dull and boring, and we don’t want them anymore. 

Change is what makes you feel alive! It’s true, it can be a bit  stressful, scary, worrisome and forces you to step outside of your comfort but it’s also very important. 

We’re not telling you to switch jobs every day but there are many ways not to let yourself go in your daily habits and to spice up your routine a little: start a new activity, change the route you take to work, take your family for picnic.

The first step would probably be to put all your sad outfits aside from time to time and replace your shoes (that are at least 10 years old) for new colorful and feminine ones … like the Abbesses!

Your only barrier is your IMAGINATION.

Tip#2: Or-ga-ni-sa-tion!

.

When you have 1000 things to do in one small 24 hour day, organization is key. And your pen and notepad are your best friends! 

Make lists, des check lists, des wishlists, des to do lists...whichever way you call them! 

Putting on paper what you are thinking inside your head, will allow you to: 

     1. Relieve your brain: yes, one less thing to think about!

     2. Not forgot anyhting! (like buyng your new pair of Chouz),

     3. Estimate the feasability of your planning,

     4. Visualize what's been done and what is left to do (We are talbing about those who think that 8h00 means 8h15).

Write what you have to do during the day, the week or the month will allow you to remain calm and efficient (and it will give you room to think about your next holidays professional projects).

Tips#3: Take some times for yourself!

.

You might be a mom, have too many classes, be overworked but that doesn’t make you any less a woman, a young lady or a girl. And your body and your mind need you to take care of them

It’s not because you take some time for yourself that you will be disregarding others. On the contrary, the time you will spend with them will be even better! 

In our office we like to take care of our feet and our style! It’s our field of expertise, our own little pleasure to be able to choose the perfect combination and bring our own touch of fantasy depending on our desires every morning.

And with that, you are finally ready to face the difficulties of going back to work! So breathe in deep, lift your head up from your phone, look at the sky, the flower on your right, the birds flying and put things into perspective: going back to work brings along lots of new things and I’m sure when it comes to you, many surprises as well (worst case scenario, they will come next year)!
